Two days before the end of school, our Music Director, Mr. Lamontange, and 3th and 4th Grade teacher, Mrs. Heath and I took Grades 1-4 Christmas caroling at the Canterbury Inn just down the hill from the school.
The children performed Christmas songs in the Dining Room for the assembled residents who clapped and sang along. Our music program has really grown this year under the direction of Mr. Michael Lamontagne who is actually an alumnus of GSCS.
He recently graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville where he studied theater. Many of you will know him from the children's summer theater program in Lyndonville which he has directed for the past several summers.
God has blessed us with very talented staff who not only love their fields of expertise, but also love the students and want them to have the best possible experience during the years that they are with us at Good Shepherd.
Christmas caroling is so much fun. It has been a disappearing tradition, but when you see the joy on the faces of the elderly residents, many of whom no longer have little children in their lives, it makes it all the more important.
