On Sunday, November 5, the Good Shepherd Youth Group and the Corpus Christi Religious Education students helped out at the family Mass at St. Elizabeth Church. They served the Mass, ushered, formed a children's choir, and helped with the coffee hour after Mass. At one point during the coffee hour, the Youth Group disappeared and, because I am a cynical adult, I was suspicious that they were up to no good. You can't imagine my surprise, and that of their teachers, when we found them praying in the church at the foot of the altar. This was a spontaneous decision they made on their own without any prompting from us. I was so incredibly proud of them! Their faith is so much stronger than I often give them credit for. Something is working in our efforts to teach them to love Jesus!
