I love this photo because of the absolute concentration on this young man's face as he prepares to take the shot. But I also love this photo because if you look in the background you will see the Good Shepherd Mission Statement on the wall. That superimposition of core values and success is emblematic of why we exist.  Good Shepherd Catholic School is geared for the success of her students.  Our core values: Faith in God, personal excellence, learning, service, and compassion are not mere slogans; they are a way of life oriented towards a successful adolescence and adulthood.  But in order to be successful, one has to live by these values and practice them, just like one has to practice shooting baskets.  It's up to the students ultimately and the good example of their parents, teachers and community members to arrive at success, but we point them in the right direction--toward the basket!!
