The Kingdom Challenge Fundraiser is always a lot of work for our Good Shepherd staff and family members, but in the end why surprises me the most is the amount of participation from community members. Many are there because they enjoy running, but all of them are there to support the fundraising efforts of our school. They are all ages from small children to elderly people, some of whom are running, or walking, in memory of a former runner.

     This year I was unable to run, but I handed out medals at the finish line. I also received a “left over” pine tree prize, which I planted in the backyard of the Rectory. It will be a reminder for years to come of our school and community working together to provide a Catholic education for the children in St. Johnsbury--families, teachers and runners!
