A Lot of Pomp and Circumstance

Graduation was a blast. The student band under the direction of Ms. Mary McCleod sounded great performing Pomp and Circumstance for the graduating 8th Graders. But, if you have ever taught beginning music, you know that this is not how the school year starts. It takes extraordinary patience to be an elementary ed music teacher. There are days and weeks of honks, squawks and just plain noise. Ms. McCleod, however, persevered faithfully, so that by the end of the year for graduation, the kids had confidence and ability to perform respectably for a public event.  I am looking forward to working with Ms. McCleod next year and with this burgeoning group of young musicians who have made such progress under her direction. Thank you Ms. McCleod! Encore!
