I love this photo of Liam, Rowen, AJ and Max who are serving spaghetti at the Pasta with a Purpose fundraiser. That fundraiser is one of our most popular events sponsored by the GSCS PTG, but involving so many students, parents, families, volunteers and community members. It takes hours of cooking, serving, deliveries, and cleaning up. We had great attendance this year and a large number of take-out meals. The food was delicious, but most importantly, the participation of the students made it not only a memorable experience for them, but also a teaching moment. Catholic education is not free. It takes a lot of donors, benefactors and volunteers to keep Catholic education flourishing in the United States. These 8th Grade students are learning that there are some things that are really worth working for--such as their education. I hope that their time serving meals will stick with them well into the future when hopefully they will send their own kids for a Catholic education--or better yet, that they will become Catholic school teachers themselves!
A huge thank you to all of you who bought meals and/or made donations to support this event. Your financial support keeps our doors open and the spaghetti cooking.
