March 19 is the Solemnity of St. Joseph, which is an important feast day in the Church because one of St. Joseph's titles is "Glory of family life." On his feast day, I took my 5/6 Religion class up to St. John the Evangelist Church where we talked about St. Joseph and his role in salvation history and we prayed the Litany of St. Joseph. Each of the students took a turn reading the invocations--and they learned some new vocabulary at the same time.
Devotions are important for a life of faith. Our Catholic Faith is very rich, not only in Scripture, but also in traditions and customs from around the world. I hope that this little digression into Catholic culture will continue to stimulate their spiritual taste buds and curiosity about the wonders of God's revelation of Himself to the world and of our response to His revelation.
Thank you to our many benefactors who support Good Shepherd Catholic School. May St. Joseph intercede for you and for all of your personal intentions. St. Joseph, Glory of family life... Pray for us.
